Types of Diseases 1. Infectious: These are caused parasites vectored-transmitted by a intermediary, usually mosquito, fleas, flies, worms, snails Nonvectored-transmitted through direct contact 2. Chronic/Degenerative: usually affects the older population 3. Genetic: Passed from family, hereditary, some are carriers and others affected

Infectious These are usually higher in the tropical climates and areas around animals/livestock The infrastructure and movement of a population can spread up diffusion process (accessibility, distance, connectivity) What types of countries will be affected more? Examples: best known and most deadly-malaria Yellow fever, dengue fever, HIV/AIDS, Influenza

Chronic/Degenerative
These diseases affect the older populations, these can appear out of nowhere, but they have been building throughout lifetime What countries will be affected more? Examples-Heart disease, cancers, stroke, diabetes

Genetic These are hereditary diseases that can only affect a smaller percentage of people Can have it with no affects/can be carrier Can affect on a certain race or gender Examples: Hemophilia, Sickle-cell, Tay-sachs
