Since 2010, approximately 5,000 Ohio foster children “aged out” of the system upon reaching age 18.
This is what many experience as independent adults – on their own.

Dorothy Pelanda allows the State of Ohio to extend services and supports to foster youth through age 21. requires participating youth be enrolled in school, job training, or maintain employment. State and Federally funded, State administered Signed by Gov. Kasich in June 2016 Implementation is January 2018 Steve Plottner

ODJFS will administer the program Program will be implemented in January of 2018 ODJFS named an advisory council to evaluate and make recommendations for statewide implementation OFC Task Force recommendations focused on: Eligibility Placement Administration Case Review Case Management Data Recommendations have been shared with ODJFS as well as statewide leaders Steve Plottner
