1 Chapter 26: Coming to Conclusions
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7

2 IS YOUR HYPOTHESIS RIGHT OR WRONG?
Introduction This is the most fun section of your project to complete! Once you have looked at all your data, finished analyzing it and determining what it means, and finally explaining it, you come to the last required section. IS YOUR HYPOTHESIS RIGHT OR WRONG? When you finish answering this question, you know you are DONE! It is no longer than 1 or 2 sentences. Did you accept or reject your hypothesis. Did you accept your NULL hypothesis if you proved your original hypothesis to be incorrect.

3 Example Conclusions 1) My hypothesis is rejected because I was not able to build a replica of an ancient battery that was strong enough to light up a light bulb. 2) My hypothesis is accepted because hydrochloric acid it the best acid to use to extract copper from rock. 3) The null hypothesis is accepted because we were unable to increase milk production in Nubian goats by feeding them 20% more protein.

4 Now Try It Yourself - Conclude
Write your science fair question in your notebook:   Write down your hypothesis:  Then, write your conclusion: Warning: Make sure all 3 of these things match up before you put them on your science fair board. Make sure you answered your question and did not get side tracked and answer a different question.

5 Write in your scientific notebook!!
Write in your journal: What did you find? MAKE SURE YOUR CONCLUSION ANSWERS YOUR QUESTION. Write it in such a way as to say you accepted or rejected your hypothesis. Also write in a “because” statement. Why did you accept or reject it? You may write more in your journal, but your poster conclusion should have 2 sentences at the most. Write in your scientific notebook!!
