1. Determine Interview Questions

Interviewing plays a small investment in your future: personal and professional We frequently use interviews to gather information. Consider Your Audience – an interviewer acts as a proxy or a stand in. The better you know what your audience wants to hear/know, the better interviewer you will become. Be Curious – have a burning desire to know: Research the company. Do your homework.
Determine Interview Questions
Anticipate the question: Think in terms of : General, Educational, Job Related, and Personal
Make positive points about yourself. Be ready to sell yourself with the great things that you can do.
Puffballs- easy questions. These are opportunities to sell yourself
Pauses- chances to bring something up to sell yourself
Bridges- linking one thing to another to share positive points about yourself.
Sparklers- something that makes the point come alive: analogy, anecdote, quote

2. REHEARSE tough questions
Take your time: pause before answering. Think before you speak. (Sometimes the best answer to a tough question is ‘I don’t know.’ Most interviewers will appreciate your honesty.
Ethical issues: Inappropriate Questions
Employers can not ask you questions that may give them opportunity to discriminate against hiring you. Health, Marriage, Religion, Children,
Handle situations diplomatically – so you can stay on the interviewers good side.
Ask the interviewer questions – if asked late in the interview, ask about specific duties, immediate supervisors, job related tasks. NEVER about days off, vacations, pay, holidays, or sick leave.
