Parent Teacher Conferences
These occur twice a year- November and January Due to class size Kindergarten completes conferences over 2 days. At this point I can not guarantee a specific day or time but would like the following information for scheduling. Conferences are 10 minutes in length. MORNING KINDERGARTEN ONLY BREAKFAST
Child’s Name: ________________________ Will typically eat breakfast at school (Circle one): YES or NO Breakfast is served daily. Walkers are permitted to enter the building for breakfast at 8:35am, I highly encourage arriving early if your child is eating at school. Breakfast for others most often is in the classroom. I am not discouraging any child from eating breakfast at school, but please talk with your child about the following breakfast procedures. Welcome to Kindergarten!
Meet Mrs. Foltz This is my 9th year teaching in the district Previously taught 1st grade, special education and Kindergarten 2nd year at Paxtang I hold a duel degree in Elementary and Special Education Received my masters in 2014 I LOVE coffee, the color green and all things teaching I spend a lot of time at the beach I have a VERY active 2 year old Daily Schedule *Times and things will change below is a listing of learning we typically do! - Arrival Morning Meeting Skills group- to support student reading needs Guided Reading- small group targets fluency, sight words and comprehension Shared Reading Phonemic Awareness Math Writing Brain Breaks These occur throughout the day and are short times to get kids moving! There will be no snack during the Kindergarten session. Pleas have your child eat a filling breakfast or lunch before coming to school.

Birthdays Blue Binders Bathrooms Newsletters Homework
You may bring in a small treat for your child’s birthday. Do not bring cake or something that needs to be cut. Please also be mindful of food allergies. Blue Binders Please check and return these everyday. No other folder is needed. All communication from school to home should come through this. Bathrooms There is a bathroom in the classroom. I will not deny a student use of the bathroom, however I will ask students to wait if we are actively engaged in learning. Please talk with your child about this and not waiting until “it’s an emergency”. Newsletters Weekly newsletters will be placed in your child’s blue binder. It will come home each week letting you know what we are working on as well as weekly assignments and announcements. Homework Homework will begin around the 2nd or 3rd week of school. There will typically be two assignments, one for reading/letter practice and one for math. Homework will come home on Monday and is due on Friday. My goal in assigning homework is to give you and your child a chance to work on something together. If at anytime your child is becoming frustrated or upset just stop then let me know and I will work with them here. Again, my goal is not to create stress or anxiety for your or your child.
