Our Factory
Our factory is located in the city of Chongqing, and our main product is automobiles. We produce 2,000 cars and 1,000 mini-buses per year. Our factory is made up of seven departments. The Product Development Department is for developing new products. The Production Department is in charge of production. The Marketing Department conducts marketing research and sets marketing policy. The Human Resources Department is responsible for hiring employees. The Financial Department manages our finances and pays wages to the workers. The Sales Department sells the products. The Transportation Service Department organises delivery. Each department has a manager and department managers regularly report their work to the general manager. We all work hard and we love our factory very much.

Mass Production
Mass production became popular in the 1910s and 1920s with Henry Ford’s motor company. The company introduced electric motors to chain production, and in the process, the world stepped into a new age.
Although Ford’s contribution to mass production was great, the company was not the first creator of mass production. A company in Venice (Italy) had mass-produced ships several hundred years ago. During the Industrial Revolution, simple mass production techniques were used to produce parts of ships for the navy. Clocks, watches and small armaments were also produced this way. During the US Civil War, guns were mass-produced on a large scale. However, electrified assembly lines greatly improved the efficiency of mass production, and reduced the costs of products.
