vocabulary corrosion is the gradual destruction of materia,
reddish fairly red in colour patina a green, black or brown layer that forms on the surface of some metals degrade to change or make stn change to a simpler chemical form porous having many small holes that allow water or air to pass through slowly underlying existing under the surface of sth else

Methods of protection from corrosion
Applied coatings Plating, painting, and the application of enamel are the most common anti-corrosion treatments. They work by providing a barrier of corrosion-resistant material between the damaging environment and the structural material. Painted coatings are relatively easy to apply and have fast drying times although temperature and humidity may cause dry times to vary. Galvanized surface Page 5

Methods of protection from corrosion
Oxidation film The aluminum oxide coating is tough and closely packed. It protects the underlying aluminum from further corrosion Alter the internal structure of a metal Add chromium and nickel to plain steel in order to make stainless steel Page 6
