3. Introduction to automatic hydraulic door closer
An automatic hydraulic door closer is a mechanical device which is used to control the opening and closing the door with controlled speed.
Door closers have internal springs and hydraulic oil with cylinders.
All door closers have valves that adjust the speed of the door closing and opening.
In automatic hydraulic door closer a spring mounted between the frame and the door can close the door if the spring is subjected to tensile force while opening. In order to restore to its original free state, the spring pulls the door towards the frame and ensures the closing of the door.
Spring controlled door closer with Fluid/oil filled cylinder having two chambers in order to ensure delayed closing.

5. WORKING MECHANISM OF DOOR CLOSER
When the door is opened, pinion rotates with the help of the arm connected to the door.
Springs and oil inside the door closer body get subjected to tensile force and spring is store the energy.
Under this condition oil is squeezed from the existing spring side position to the other side, through the hole in the one side of he piston head and through the check valve.
When the door is closed the expaned springs tend to compressed and pull the Rack and piston head to take its original position.
This in turn pushes the arm of the door closer & provides the closing action of the door.
