1 Minds On – Investigating the Self
Score It! Check out the different aspects of ‘the self’ on the sheet provided Using a scale of 1 – 10 (1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest) give yourself a score in each of the four quadrants. Apply It! Using the scores from the previous questions apply them to the wheel. Imagine the inside of each quadrant as 0 and the outside as 10. Draw a line across each quadrant as shown to form your personal Medicine Wheel. How balanced is it? Are these four aspects of your life interconnected in a positive way?

2 The Medicine Wheel and Worldview

3 A Medicine Wheel is a circle where all parts are interconnected with another to form a whole
This holistic approach can be applied to the self, the community, and to a worldview as a whole Although often used to represent Aboriginal wisdom in North America, Medicine Wheels are not necessarily a tradition belonging to all Aboriginal peoples.

4 The centre of the Medicine Wheel symbolizes the self in balance, and the perspective of traditional philosophy.  Medicine Wheel symbolism is embodied in daily living and ceremonies (pow-wows, Sun Dances, sweatlodges, etc.)
