1 Our Solar System by NATHAN ADAMS
The sun has of our solar system’s mass. There are eight planets in our solar system. Our Solar System was created over 4.6 billion years ago.

2 THE SUN The temperature of the surface of the Sun is about 5500 degrees Celsius. The sun produces a solar wind that produces charged particles. The Sun has cool areas otherwise known as sun spots.

3 MERCURY The surface of Mercury is similar to the Moon’s surface.
The temperature on Mercury is over 400 degrees Celsius. A Mercury day lasts 59 Earth days.

4 Venus The atmosphere is made up of carbon dioxide.
It is slightly smaller than Earth. It also has gravity similar to earth.

5 Earth The third planet from the Sun is Earth.
136 degrees Fahrenheit is the maximum weather temperature on Earth. Earth is called the ocean planet.

6 Mars Mars is home of the largest volcano in the Solar System, Olympus Mons. It is icy cold on the surface of Mars. Mars has violent dust storms.

7 Asteroid belt Between the outer planets and the inner planets, the asteroid belt is there. In 1801, the asteroid belt was discovered. The asteroid belt is located between Mars and Jupiter.

8 jupiteR Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun.
Jupiter is the biggest planet. Jupiter has a big red spot which is a hurricane that’s been raging for over three hundred years.

9 saturn Saturn’s rings are mostly ice water.
Saturn is mostly made of hydrogen and helium. Saturn has almost 52 discovered moons.

10 uranus Uranus is the seventh planet from the sun.
Uranus has seasons that lasts for 20 years. Uranus has eleven rings.

11 neptune Neptune is the eighth planet from the sun.
Neptune has six rings. Neptune has 13 moons.

12 The dwarf planet pluto Pluto is the smallest planet in our solar system. Pluto is the furthest planet from the sun. Pluto has 4 moons

13 stars A Star is a huge ball of superheated gases.
A Star radiates energy made by nuclear fusion. There almost 200 to 400 stars in the Milky Way galaxy.

14 comets Comets are usually made of frozen water.
The nucleus is made of ice. Many comets formed in Kuiper Belts.

15 galaxy There are more than 170 billion Galaxies.
Galaxies usually collide with each other. There are different kinds of Galaxies including, Elliptical Galaxies, Spiral Galaxies Lenticular Galaxies, and Irregular Galaxies.

16 Kuiper belt The Kuiper Belt is a disc shaped region.
The Kuiper the Dwarf Planet Pluto. The first belt was discovered in
