EXHIBIT 1 What is Programmatic Poverty Assessment? A new approach which recognizes that effective poverty analysis and monitoring needs to be anchored in local institutional arrangements. Distinguishing elements are: Tailoring the poverty work to country-specific needs Developing a medium-term (3-year) poverty work program Including capacity building as an integral part of poverty work Providing a series of timely outputs to inform the country’s budget/policy needs and the Bank’s business needs Continuous dissemination process

ECA Household Data Archive
EXHIBIT 6 ECA Household Data Archive A centralized regional archive for household surveys –questionnaires, sample descriptions, survey reports, and other survey documentation “One-Stop Shop” for accessing regional household data – links with Global Poverty Monitoring group; users provided with complete and datasets and survey documentation Prepare regional and cross-country poverty indicators and update them periodically Promote a “community of users” Initiative sponsored by the ECA Chief Economist’s Office and PREM Check it out on the ECSPE’s website!!
