1. FUTURE TENSE VERBS There are three ways to talk about the future.

2. FUTURE TENSE VERBS We use will to talk about:

When we decide now to do something:
When we promise something:
When we threaten someone:
I think it will rain tomorrow.
I have no school, so I’ll go to my friend’s house.
I’ll help you with your homework, if you erase the board.
Don’t speak Chinese or you’ll do zombie arms!

3. FUTURE TENSE VERBS “WILL” has many different forms. Contraction (‘ll):
The negative of “will” is “will not” or simply “won’t”:
Helping verbs do not get “he/she/it, s/s/s”.
I think he’ll be here today.
If you’re not good, you’ll go down to Ms. Mimi.
Will you go to school tomorrow?
Mr. Matt won’t watch TV today, because he’s tired.

4. FUTURE TENSE VERBS
You can tell a future tense verb because it has “will” in the sentence.

5. FUTURE TENSE VERBS We use be going to to talk about: Future plans:
Something we are confident will happen:
I am going to visit my family in Canada this winter.
You are going to have a test on Friday.

6. FUTURE TENSE VERBS “BE GOING TO” has many different forms.
Contraction (‘m, ‘re, ‘s):
In the negative “not” comes between “be” and “going to”.
“Be going to” is a helping verb.
Helping verbs do not get “he/she/it, s/s/s”.
They’re going to finish their homework at home.
It’s going to rain today.
He is not going to get a good score.
We are not going to finish before the end of class.
