2. Doctoral Training at the University of Debrecen - formal doctoral training were restructured into doctoral schools in 2000 - the number of doctoral (Ph.D.) degrees issued at the university is close to 150 each year - the propotion of researchers and instructors with Ph.D. degrees within the full time employees is higher than 50%

International relations
University of Debrecen has bilateral agreements with 78 foreign universities (not counting the numerous faculty- level agreements) the University is member of the following organizations and networks (some examples): - TEMPUS, ERASMUS, CEEPUS, OECD, ISEP, MCTS - EUA (European Commission-supervised European University Association) - CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) - EAIE (European Association for International Education) - ESMU (European Centre for the Strategic Management University)

Statistics - 8 institutes with 33 departments, and 6 „independent” departments - 262 teachers and researchers - 92 other staff students ( full time students) - 227 Ph.D. students 2. Training - 23 degree courses on university level - there are scientific student clubs

3. Doctoral Training - 4 doctoral schools including 9 doctoral programs - the fields of LLL works under the Multidisciplinary humanities school - Formal and Non-formal Education Ph. D. programme is a unique one in its form in Hungary

Lifelong Learning 1. Co-operation on Lifelong Learning at the University There are 3 organizations which can cooperate on this field: - Department of Cultural Studies and Adult Education - Department of Educational Studies - Lifelong Learning Centre These organizations give the framework for the Formal and Non-formal Education Ph.D. programme (17 teachers and research fellows)

Lifelong Learning The related projects are supported by Hungarian resources (Ministry of Education, Ministry of Employment and Labour, National Institute of Adult Education) and EU funding (e.g. Grundtvig).
