ABSTRACT Using a group of students who will sit for the STPM's examination at the end of this year as a case study, a special partnership is developed between (a) campus administrators, lecturers, students and (b) community leaders, local authority and the students. Besides profiling and monitoring technique, this model has identified several service learning activities as how to build self-confidence, self-aspiration and positive mind set. By linking academic resources with community needs, UUM can foster relevant beneficial engagement initiatives that portray responsibility of social responsibility for our students, university and community. INTRODUCTION A model to demonstrate the significant role that UUM 's can play towards succeeding high school students to enter university In seeking a university community engagement programmes, University Utara Malaysia has identified a program that further positioned its role as convener in related to higher education.

UUM & CE This CE project will contributes significantly to the revitalization of higher education's civic role in a modern and changing world, building community capacity and enhancing accessibility to post-secondary education;.

Objective MOTIVATION PHASE 1: LAUNCHING
Workshop on Enhancing Youth Talent, Langkawi 2015 Launched on 9 till 11 April 2015 at Sintok Camp, UUM. MOTIVATION To create awareness and encourage students to be more viable in national development. Increase motivation and self-confidence so much seek to be independent in order to improve the living standards of families. Demographic Respondents: male 27.7%, female 72.3% Area of Studies: Arts 95.7%; Science 2.1%, Economics 2.1% Number of Siblings in HE: None 72.3%, 1 person 19.1%, 2 persons 3.2%, 4 persons 1.1%, 5 persons 1.1% Parents Work Status: Fathers 98.9%; Mothers 43% Parents Education: BOTH almost 80% at least have secondary education

Academic Achievements
Majority likes to study and have the intention to further their education to HEI; Parents are the main motivator and act as reference, followed by school-mates and siblings; Majority use internets, have social media such as Facebook, WA and WeChat; 76.6% have working experiences

Self Concepts SOCIAL FACTOR 83% happy to be accompanied.
78.7% enjoy friendships. 93.6% happy to be among friends. 48.9% involve in activities. PHYSICAL FACTOR 61.7% happy with their looks 59.6% have confidence over their looks. 67.4% satisfied with their physical appearences.

Self Concepts ACADEMIC FACTOR FAMILY FACTOR 83% love their parents.
30.8% hardworking. 39.3% do things right. 80.9% self acceptance. 57.5% mastering basic academic knowledge. 54.2% really serious about academic perfomance. Only 28.7% agree that they have no problems with academic mastering. FAMILY FACTOR 83% love their parents. 85.1% have good family-ties. 93.6% consider support from parents’s. 86.2% feel comfortable at home with families. 73.3% do not feel frustrated with their parents.

Majority wish for success and want to make their parent’s proud; ONLY some students stated they want to further their studies to HEI. MISSION Most students named their parents as idols; Few named Tun Dr Mahathir Muhamad, singers and actors . ROLE- MODEL

CONCLUSION It aligns with UUM’s mission and hold promise for strengthening our community partnerships, enriching learning, and extending the impact of our scholarly and creative contributions; We believe that an engaged university will improve quality of life in the community, quality in students learning experience and enhanced service quality.
