Survey Methodology
This province-wide survey was designed and conducted by Probe Research Inc. in partnership with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority – Tissue Bank via telephone interviews conducted between Mar. 28, 2016 and April 4, 2016 among a random and representative sampling of 1,000 Manitoba adults.
With a sample of 1,000, one can say with 95 percent certainty that the results are within +/- 3.1 percentage points of what they would have been if the entire adult population of Manitoba had been interviewed. The margin-of-error is higher within each of the survey’s population sub-groups.
Modified random-digit dialing of both landline and wireless numbers was used to ensure that all Manitoba adults would have an equal opportunity to participate in this Probe Research survey.
Minor statistical weighting by age, and gender has been applied to this sample to ensure that it corresponds with the province as a whole.

4. Sub-Population Variations
There is a great deal of sub-population activity with respect to those willing to make organ and tissue donations.
The intention to donate is considerably higher in Winnipeg (52%) than it is in other parts of Manitoba (44%).
Overall, individuals aged (58% vs approximately 45% for younger or older age cohorts) are more willing to be organ and tissue donors. However, it is worth noting that, for males, donation willingness is highest among those years (52%), while donation willingness for females is highest among those aged years (70%).
Donation willingness correlates strongly with income (41% among households earning <$60,000 annually, climbing to 64% among households earning $100,000 or more) and education (37% among those with Grade 12 or less, climbing to 56% among university and college graduates).
