Literacy Phonics Maths Notices
Newsletter Reception Class 8th January 2016 Literacy During literacy this week we have been reading the story of ‘Whatever Next’ by Jill Murphy. From this story the children have produced some fantastic lists of the different objects they would pack in their own suitcase if they went to the moon. I have been extremely impressed with everyone's hard work this week. Well done Reception! The children have had a fantastic week in class. They have really enjoyed playing together in the new space station/ space rocket role play. They have all enjoyed playing together to reenact the space story of ‘Whatever Next’ by Jill Murphy. Some children have also made some brilliant space rockets in the construction area. Where they followed their designs very carefully. They even attempted to add some labels to their designs as well! Phonics We have revised the first set of sounds from phase 3 and have continued to blend and segment words this week. Please encourage your child to read as much as possible at home to help them with this. Maths Throughout this week we have been looking at practical take away problems. Some children have also been attempting to write their own number sentences! Notices Please can all homework be completed and be returned by Tuesday. This weeks homework is sound g and all children will have an activity sheet to complete in their learning together book. So that we are able to know how the children are doing at home with their reading please can you complete the comments section in their reading record and also note down what page they have read up to. Many thanks, Miss Brown.
