1. Odyssey Writer Left click on Courses & Assignments
Left click on Assignment Builder

2. Odyssey Writer Scroll down and click on New Writer Activity
Type instructions for students
Left click on Assignment Builder

Type Project Name and click Save
Left click on Close

4. Odyssey Writer
Left click on Close
Type Assignment Name

5. Odyssey Writer Type Assignment Name Check the box “Select”
Click Complete Assignment
Select Subject (required field)

6. Odyssey Writer Select Level (grade): Required
Assign to Students Now? - Yes
Left click on Next

7. Odyssey Writer
Click in the box next to your name (this will assign to all students in your class)
Students have been assigned Odyssey Writer assignment

8. Odyssey Writer
If a student logs in and does NOT see the Odyssey Writer icon (it will appear under the Portfolio icon).
Left click on the subject the Odyssey Writer icon was assigned (i.e. Language Arts), refer to the Complete Assignment slide.
After the student has completed the first assignment and the teacher has graded the Odyssey Writer will appear.
Student will click on eLearning (writing assignment name) icon to begin the writing assignment

9. Odyssey Writer Click on eLearning Assignment icon
Student reviews writing instructions then click Close.

10. Odyssey Writer Student types the text in the white box.
When assignment is completed, click on the hand/envelope icon.
Click on Yes to hand in writing assignment

Project submitted and completed

12. Odyssey Writer
To grade an Odyssey Writer assignment, click on Courses & Assignments – Submitted Projects. There is a check mark if there are assignments waiting to be graded.
Highlight student name and click Open to view

13. Odyssey Writer
If you would like to use a rubric, left click on the appropriate number
To add a comment, left click on Comment and type comment

14. Odyssey Writer
To add a grade to the assignment, click on the Grade icon
When grading is complete, click on Send
When the student logs in, they have “1” on the Odyssey Writer indicating there is an assignment that has been graded.
Click on the icon to open

15. Odyssey Writer Highlight assignment name and click Open
Student can click on Rubric, Grade and Comments to review their assignment
