You’ve made it clear that digital transformation is your top focus, with the opportunity to improve how you engage your customers, empower your employees, optimize your operations, and transform your products. With that in mind, I’ve been working with your team to evaluate your application portfolio and infrastructure to determine the best ways to support those digital goals. First finding, many of your existing .NET and line-of-business server applications can be updated with little or no code change required to take advantage of more rapid and agile development and deployment processes. With faster release cycles, you can respond to the needs of the business by improving security, building in analytics and business intelligence to support better decision making, and adding mobile capabilities to allow employees and partners to use them anywhere. The latest innovation in Windows Server and SQL Server allows you to build more agile, intelligent, and secure applications, and Software Assurance always gives you the rights to the latest versions of these products. Our second finding, as we work together to modernize your applications, there will be an opportunity to move many of them to Azure to take advantage of speed, scale, and economics of cloud computing. We also see a great opportunity to move all your development and test environment to the cloud to make it easier for developers to quickly provision what they need without buying and managing new hardware. For applications that you plan to move to the cloud, Software Assurance provides unique flexibility and savings benefits. The Azure Hybrid Use Benefit provides up to 50% savings on Windows Server virtual machines in Azure. I have a calculator that we can use to compute the huge savings this would bring if you’d like us to follow up with your team. If you have Windows Server running in AWS today, you are paying too much. Similarly, License Mobility provides the flexibility to deploy existing SQL Server licenses in the cloud without additional fees. Software Assurance gives you access to the Azure Hybrid Use Benefit and License Mobility to help future-proof your investments as you move to the cloud, and provides a great value as you do it. Now, some of your applications may not be ready to update yet. Your legacy ERP system is heavily integrated with other systems, you have a few custom developed applications that work fine and would be expensive to rearchitect, and some industry- specific applications that are not yet offered as cloud-based solutions. These applications are largely running on older versions of Windows Server and SQL Server. If we can keep those applications running for now without disruption, it will help your team focus on the other priorities we talked about. To help with this, we have just introduced Windows Server Premium Assurance and SQL Server Premium Assurance that add six more years of product support for those products for a total of 16 years. These low-cost add-ons to Software Assurance help you continue to meet compliance requirements and ensure security on those systems you aren’t ready to update. I’m working with your procurement department on renewing your enterprise agreement, and I’d like to confirm your support to continue to include Software Assurance. As we’ve discussed with some specific examples today, Software Assurance helps future-proof your investments, providing three key ways (and many more!) to best support your digital transformation goals.
