Tuesday is picture day School fees are due. $70/student, to the office October’s lessons This month we will be focusing on adding and subtracting in math. These will be taught in different strategies of which the students can decide which works best for them. We will work on adding and subtracting numbers in the thousands. I will begin reading the class the novel Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. I do this each year before Remembrance Day as well as other stories about the tragedy of war. Students will be practicing their story writing this month by writing a variety of ‘scary’ stories to celebrate Halloween. This is always a project students enjoy. Science continues with the study of waste in our world and how we can take care of the earth. Students will discuss recycling and see how it impacts the environment. Weekly spelling Spelling words gloves, speed, skill, screens, protect, front, craft, brains, scared, stuff Spelling tests will be on Mondays (Tuesday if there is no school Monday). Students will get their new words this day as well. Please practice the words with your child nightly.
