The portfolio assessment consists of several reading passages and accompanying questions administered on a weekly basis. All students in grade 3 must complete the portfolio assessments and the results may be used to demonstrate reading proficiency to justify “good cause” promotion to grade 4, if specified criteria are met. It is imperative that students are in school on a daily basis so that they can prepare for the FSA. Thanks for your continuous support. Monday, February 20th - No school – President’s Day Tues. Feb. 21st – Portfolio Testing Wednesday, February 22th - Snow Cone Sale $1.00 & Little Fox Activity 2-3pm (selected students) Friday, Feb. 24th – Honor Roll VPK. Lottery Media Center Dear Families, This week students will begin reading expository texts. The stories include “African Lions” and “Gray Wolf! Red Fox!” Students will compare and contrast, reread, and look for sentence clues. Please have your child use I-Ready at home to improve their reading skills. Science: Students will continue learning about the Solar System. Social Studies: Students will learn about famous African-Americans and will continue reading from their weekly Scholastic News magazine. Students will finish working on Chapter 9, Comparing Fractions and begin Chapter 10 Measurement. Please make sure that your child continues using the Reflex and I-Ready Math programs.
