What we do: Support (mostly) rural communities to take ownership and control of vital assets Community shops for many years Now also pubs (‘More than a Pub’ in England) Woodlands (‘Making Local Woods Work’) Energy, breweries, etc.

Developing an Action Plan Two days of Advisor support Identifying people and bringing them together Ensure all interests in community included Open and transparent discussion, considering all options Team building

How does this relate to leadership? Through group process, people: Discover their skills Build on their previous experience Gain in confidence (e.g. public speaking) Access appropriate training Prepare to become directors of a business
