President Obama and the white house are proposing a new tax rate for people earning more than $1 million a year. This new tax rate will force millionaires in America to pay at least the same percentage of their earnings in taxes as middle-income Americans who make far less per year. The Congress must vote in favor of the new tax rate in order for it to become a law.
In your opinion, should the government raise taxes on millionaires and then redistribute (re-order) some of that money to people without jobs? Why or why not?
