1 “Hillary Clinton Diagnosed With Pneumonia, Cancels Events Through Tuesday”

2 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was diagnosed with pneumonia, according to a statement issued late Sunday afternoon by her physician, Lisa R. Bardack. Clinton had abruptly left a Sept. 11 commemoration ceremony in New York City earlier that day. Her campaign said she had "felt overheated.” After resting at her daughter Chelsea's apartment (NY), the Democratic nominee emerged smiling, and under her own power in front of the cameras before climbing into her motorcade. She told reporters she was now "feeling great.” The campaign tried to foster an air of normality by saying that Clinton also spent time playing with her grandchildren while at her daughter's home. But hours of speculation and uncertainty about what happened to Clinton earlier in the day and a lack of information about her status triggered an air of crisis. Clinton was scheduled to travel to California Monday for two days, but late Sunday night her campaign called off the events. "The canceling of the events is presumably to give Clinton time to recover before the final stretch of less than two months until Election Day. Clinton has other events Wednesday and beyond, and those are still on at this point.”

3 In Other News PHILADELPHIA -- Carson Wentz had 278 yards passing and two touchdowns in a stellar NFL debut and the Philadelphia Eagles beat Robert Griffin III and the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Promoted from No. 3 quarterback to starter just eight days ago, the No. 2 overall pick from North Dakota State looked like a franchise player. Wentz played mistake-free football despite missing the last three preseason games with injured ribs. He finished 22 of 37 with a passer rating. John Hinckley Jr., the man who shot President Ronald Reagan in 1981, was released Saturday from a Washington psychiatric hospital. A worker at St. Elizabeth's Hospital told CNN he saw Hinckley leave the hospital grounds. Before departing, Hinckley walked around and got into a car with some people wishing him good luck, the worker said. In July, a federal judge decided to grant Hinckley, 61, "full-time convalescent leave" from St. Elizabeth's Hospital. The order allows him to live full time with his mother in Williamsburg, Virginia, but still under certain restrictions.
