How to study Mathematics Effectively?
The following four-step routine is a suggestion for making your home study effective: 1. Get oriented. Take a few minutes to think back, look over your notes, and look over the sheets to see clearly what ideas you have been working on. 2. Line up the ideas. Think about the ideas, rules , and methods in the day's assignment or lesson. Don't forget to familiarize yourself with any new words in your mathematics vocabulary. Try to remind yourself of any warnings about errors to avoid that the teacher might have mentioned. Go through any examples given to be sure you really understand the concepts being illustrated. 3. Do the assignment. Practice .. Practice .. Practice As practice makes perfect. 4. Help someone else, if you can. There is no better way to learn a topic than by trying to teach it! Also, it is often helpful to call upon a classmate when you do not understand a problem. How to study Mathematics Effectively? Through the following slides you will have some tips to facilitate studying the multiplication tables

It means 6 is repeated 4 times as follows:
Multiplication Any multiplication operation can be solved through addition; as multiplication means : Repeated Addition 6 X 4 = It means 6 is repeated 4 times as follows: = 24 12 + 18 + Main Concept

Multiplying by 2 6 8 4 2 16 18 14 20 10 12 Multiplying by 2:
The products of table 2 is a pattern of counting by 2. The products of table 2 are: 2 x 1 = 2 2 x 2 = 4 2 x 3 = 6 2 x 4 = 8 2 x 5 = 10 2 x 6 = 12 2 x 7 = 14 2 x 8 = 16 2 x 9 = 18 2 x 10 = 20 6 16 8 18 4 14 20 10 2 x 8 = 2 x 3 = 2 x 7 = 2 x 9 = 2 x 4 = 2 2 x 2 = 12 2 x 10 = 2 x 5 = 2 x 6 = 2 x 1 = Multiplying by 2

If we want to know the product of 3 x 3
The products of table 3 are: 3 x 1 = 3 3 x 2 = 6 3 x 3 = 9 3 x 4 = 12 3 x 5 = 15 3 x 6 = 18 3 x 7 = 21 3 x 8 = 24 3 x 9 = 27 3 x 10 = 30 Multiplying by 3: Count using your thumbkins to know the products of table 3. Lets show HOW??? If we want to know the product of 3 x 3 Count 6 9 = 9 3 5 8 2 4 7 1 So 3 x 3 = 9 Multiplying by 3

3 6 9 1 2 1 5 1 8 2 4 2 7 2 1 Multiplying by 3 Tens units
The products of table 3 can be obtained as follows: Draw the table , start from down left ,fill in the Columns 1, 2, 3 then 4, 5, 6 then 7, 8, 9. then, start from up left, fill in the rows 0, 0, 0 then 1, 1, 1 then 2, 2, 2. Second Start 3 6 9 3 x 1 = 3 x 2 = 3 x 3 = Tens 1 2 1 5 1 8 3 x 4 = 3 x 5 = 3 x 6 = 2 4 2 7 2 1 3 x 7 = 3 x 8 = 3 x 9 = First Start units Multiplying by 3

Multiplying by 5 15 40 45 20 35 10 50 25 30 5 Multiplying by 5:
The products of table 5 are: 5 x 1 = 5 5 x 2 = 10 5 x 3 = 15 5 x 4 = 20 5 x 5 = 25 5 x 6 = 30 5 x 7 = 35 5 x 8 = 40 5 x 9 = 45 5 x 10 = 50 Multiplying by 5: The products of table 5 is a pattern of counting by 5. The units digit are always five then zero. 15 40 45 20 35 10 50 25 5 x 8 = 5 x 3 = 5 x 7 = 5 x 9 = 5 x 4 = 5 x 2 = 5 x 10 = 30 5 5 x 5 = 5 x 6 = 5 x 1 = Multiplying by 5

Multiplying by 6 T U T U 2 4 6 x 2 = 1 2 6 x 4 = T U T U 4 8 6 x 6 = 3
These operations are solved as follows: Write the number multiplied by 6 in the units digit. Write half of the number in the tens digit. Multiplying by 6: The following operations only can be solved as follows: 6 x 2 ….. 6 x 4 …… 6 x 6 …… 6 x 8 T U T U Half Half 2 4 6 x 2 = 1 2 6 x 4 = T U T U Half Half 4 8 6 x 6 = 3 6 6 x 8 = Multiplying by 6

7 1 4 2 1 2 8 3 5 4 2 5 6 6 3 4 9 Multiplying by 7 units Tens
The products of table 7 can be obtained as follows: Draw the table , start from up right ,fill in the Columns 1, 2, 3 then 4, 5, 6 then 7, 8, 9. then, start from up left, fill in the Rows 0, 1, 2 then 2, 3, 4 then 4, 5, 6. First Start units Second Start 7 1 4 2 1 Tens 7 x 1 = 7 x 2 = 7 x 3 = 2 8 3 5 4 2 7 x 4 = 7 x 5 = 7 x 6 = 5 6 6 3 4 9 7 x 7 = 7 x 8 = 7 x 9 = Multiplying by 7
10
Multiplying by 8: The products of table 8 can be studied as follows: Divide the table into 2 parts (each of 5 operations). Units are always 8, 6, 4, 2, Tens are written in order 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 then 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. T U T U 8 8 x 1 = 8 x 6 = 4 8 1 6 8 x 2 = 8 x 7 = 5 6 2 4 8 x 3 = 8 x 8 = 6 4 8 x 4 = 3 2 8 x 9 = 7 2 8 x 5 = 4 8 x 10 = 8 Multiplying by 8
11
Multiplying by 9 T U T U 2 7 6 3 9 x 3 = 9 x 7 = First way
Table 9 can be studied by many ways. Table 9 operations are solved as follows: Subtract 1 from the number which is multiplied by 9 and write it in the tens digit. Write in the units digit a number that makes 9 when added to the number written in the tens digit . First way T U T U 2 7 9 x 3 = 9 x 7 = 6 3 3 - 1 7 - 1 7 2 + …. = 9 OR 9 – 2 = …. 6 + …. = 9 OR 9 – 6 = …. 3 7 3 Multiplying by 9
12
Multiplying by 9 T U Second way 9 x 1 = 9 9 x 2 = 1 8 9 x 3 = 2 7
Table 9 operations are solved as follows: Order the tens digit in an ascending order from zero till 9 . Order the units digit in a descending order from 9 till zero . 9 x 1 = 9 9 x 2 = 1 8 9 x 3 = 2 7 9 x 4 = 3 6 9 x 5 = 4 5 9 x 6 = 5 4 9 x 7 = 6 3 9 x 8 = 7 2 9 x 9 = 8 1 9 x 10 = 9 Multiplying by 9
13
Multiplying by 9 9 x 5 = 4 5 So … 9 x 5 = 45 Third way 10 circles
Table 9 operations are solved as follows: Draw 10 circles. Color 1 circle as shown in the opposite examples . Write the number of circles that lay on the left side of the colored circle to be the tens digit. Write the number of circles that lay on the right side of the colored circle to be the units digit. 9 x 5 = 5 so color the fifth circle 10 circles Left side Right side 4 5 So … 9 x 5 = 45 Multiplying by 9
14
8 so color the eighth circle
9 x 8 = 8 so color the eighth circle 10 circles Left side Right side 7 2 So … 9 x 8 = 72 Multiplying by 9
