3. Homework: Will be assigned daily
Reinforces the lesson and or big ideas of the unit
Enables students to practice and prepare for tests
Is essential to success in course

4. Laboratory Activities:
Are an integral part of the course
All Labs are written up and graded (15pts)
Labs are due as assigned
Missing labs will result in a failing (50%) quarter grade

5. Grades:
Are calculated based upon the total number of points accumulated by the student for each assignment, quiz, or project divided into the number of points in total

6. Preparing for Tests:
Students are encouraged to take good notes and ask questions in class
Students should review homework assignments and practice questions
Students should make a study guide if given a “What to Know” sheet for the test
Students should not wait until the night before to study for a test if they would like to do well

7. Extra Help: Available as needed after school

8. Setting Goals: Are important to success in this course and in life!
My personal goals for the course this year:
To instill a love and respect for the Earth and a deeper understanding of its systems.
To provide lessons that intrigue, challenge and motivate the students to go beyond the “minimum” of what is expected of them.
