Homework: Will be assigned daily
Reinforces the lesson and or big ideas of the unit Enables students to practice and prepare for tests Is essential to success in course

Laboratory Activities:
Are an integral part of the course All Labs are written up and graded (15pts) Labs are due as assigned Missing labs will result in a failing (50%) quarter grade

Grades: Are calculated based upon the total number of points accumulated by the student for each assignment, quiz, or project divided into the number of points in total

Preparing for Tests: Students are encouraged to take good notes and ask questions in class Students should review homework assignments and practice questions Students should make a study guide if given a “What to Know” sheet for the test Students should not wait until the night before to study for a test if they would like to do well

Extra Help: Available as needed after school

Setting Goals: Are important to success in this course and in life!
My personal goals for the course this year: To instill a love and respect for the Earth and a deeper understanding of its systems. To provide lessons that intrigue, challenge and motivate the students to go beyond the “minimum” of what is expected of them.
