From a Professional Journal
Babies who are born past there due dates are more at risk for cerebral palsy. At 42 weeks' babies were 40% more likely to have cerebral palsy than those born at term and the risk was also 40% higher for those born after this time. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association more research is still being conducted in order to see the biological reasons for such an increase of risk.

More Information on Camp Sunshine
17
Strengths Overall I learned a lot from Camp Sunshine
Being in the position to take care of someone with special needs, such as Cerebral Palsy. How to accommodate the needs of others before myself Became more aware of how thankful I am for being able to do things on my own. Learn to become a bit more patient when learning new things.
18
Goals Next time at Camp Sunshine: Be more open-minded
Don’t become frustrated as easily Become more patient Enjoy the moment Help with find ways to fund campers
19
Conclusion At the end of the camp I realized how rewarding this whole experience really was for me. Difficult at times, but if I continued to keep a smile on my face, so did my camper. Learned a lot about my camper that I was taking care of. I also learned a lot about myself and how thankful I am for the little things in life. My camper was unable to do many things because of her disability, however she taught us that no matter what challenges we may face, we just have to continue trying and eventually your hard work will pay off.
20
Camp Sunshine I enjoyed being with each one of the campers and I will never forget what I have learned. Camp Sunshine is something everyone should experience.
