The Technology Driver of the Digital Age
International Symposium on The Technology Driver of the Digital Age In Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Discovery of the Floating-Gate Memory Effect In 1967 the discovery of the Floating-Gate Memory (FGM) effect by Dr. Simon Sze and his colleague, the late Dr. Dawon Kahng, at Bell Laboratories sparked a revolution in nonvolatile memory technology that continues to this day. FGM has enabled the development of all electronic systems such as the cellular phone, tablet computer, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, internet of everything, big data, digital TV, digital camera, ABS and GPS. Indeed FGM has ushered in the Digital Age, and forever changed the world we live in. To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the discovery of the FGM effect and to pay tribute to hundreds of thousands of scientists and engineers who have devoted their talents and energies to the research, development, and applications of FGM and emerging nonvolatile memory technologies, we have organized the “International Symposium on Nonvolatile Memory the Technology Driver of the Digital Age,” and invited 7 world-renowned experts to review the milestones of various nonvolatile memory technologies and share their expertise and perspective with the audience about the recent advances and future trends.
