SOCIAL CLASS level or category where persons have the same socio-economic privileges in society. SOCIAL STATUS position of an individual or group within a social structure SOCIAL ROLE behavior expected of a person who occupies a particular status

CLOSED SYSTEM: statuses that are assigned to people because of either innate traits or social characteristics of parents SLAVE SYSTEM ESTATE SYSTEM CASTE SYSTEM OPEN SYSTEM: status of individual or groups is based on achievements

6 SLAVE SYSTEM individuals are considered property from the time of birth no movement from the status of slave to the status of free persons.
