6. STEP in a Nutshell
STEP is a teacher-led and teacher-driven, wholly voluntary professional development program. It is organic and non-hierarchical. Ideas flow from the bottom up, rather than being imposed on teachers from the top down. STEP aims to give teachers support and space to effectively capture, evaluate, and implement better systems, promising practices, and evaluation protocols. It is not intended to be prescriptive. It is flexible. It is collaborative. It is continually evolving.
