4. NORTHWEST HIGH SCHOOL STEM ACADEMY
Learn about engineering, design, computer science and much more.
Certifications: OSHA (standard safety training), AutoDesk, Microsoft Certifcations
Careers: Engineer, Architect, App Developer, Computer Programmer, etc.

5. NORTHWEST HIGH SCHOOL CREATIVE MEDIA PRODUCTIONS
Learn about broadcasting, behind the scenes of television, create/design fliers, posters and logos, learn how to shoot photography, etc.
Certifications: Adobe ACA
Careers: Video Editor, Social Media Manager, Video Game Programmer, Broadcast Engineer, 3D Animator, etc.

6. V.R. EATON HIGH SCHOOL Aviation Academy
Learn about aircraft technology, air navigation, ground operations, federal aviation regulations, etc.
This academy requires additional books and money for courses that must be taken through TCC.
Certifications: Private Pilot, Instrument Flight Rating
Careers: Airline Pilot, Air Traffic Control, Aircraft Maintenance Technician

7. V.R. EATON HIGH SCHOOL Business & Entrepreneurship
Learn about all aspects of creating and running a business, marketing and advertising – opportunities to create your very own business and compete at national events.
Certifications: Softskills, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
Careers: Entrepreneur, Brand Developer, Human Resource Executive

8. JAMES M. STEELE ACCELERATED
Collegiate Academy
Get ahead of the game by taking college course classes IN high school.
Certifications:
Texas Core Completion: 42 hours of study accepted at ALL Texas public college and universities
Associate of Arts Degree: 60 hours of study that fulfil requirement for North Central Texas College

Cosmetology Academy
Learn about makeup, nail and skin care, hair care, fashion, beauty and much more.

Careers: Makeup Artist, Hair Dresser, Celebrity Stylist, Nail Technician

10. DID YOU KNOW?!
James M. Steele Accelerated HS does NOT offer extra-curricular activities.
The Culinary Arts & Hospitality Academy has their very own restaurant located inside BNHS called Byron Bistro.
James M. Steele Accelerated HS has it’s very own salon for the Cosmetology students to practice in… it’s called Shears of Steele
All academies require an application, but some require an interview before you can be accepted.

11. DID YOU KNOW?!
If you are zoned for Eaton, you can still go to Northwest IF you are in either academy offered at NHS.
If you leave, or are removed, from an academy, you must go to the school you are zone for.
The Academy’s and CTE courses offered in NISD will prepare you for college and career right out of high school.
For acceptance into an academy, you are competing with 8th graders from 5 TOTAL middle schools.
Grades and attendance are very important!!  The academies look at both of these during their consideration process.
