What is the Early Years Foundation Stage?
The EYFS is a play based framework that acknowledges that every child is unique and that they develop and learn at different rates and in different ways. Play is at the heart of the EYFS.

Why is play important? Children learn best when they are playing and having fun! Play helps children to : Develop their imagination Develop their social, physical and creative skills Become happy confident learners Is there any better way to learn?

Play ranges from simple physical play with objects to more complex cognitive play. This involves more thinking and problem solving.
