Music Music and art in Japan during the 1920’s was a sense of 'Propaganda'. Some types of music were Kayo-kyoku. or Showa era pop songs, themed around counter intelligence operations. Surprisingly it has a bit of a comical atmosphere. In there was a remarkably rapid expansion of all aspects of Western music in Japan. This lead on by the setting up of a national radio.

Art Shaping Art and Culture, around 1920 and a little later, with nearly 200 works, reveals the widespread and particular impact of Art on Japanese culture. Through a wide range of sculpture, painting, prints, ceramics, jewelry, textiles and furniture—this exhibition introduces the spectacular craftsmanship designs of Japan’s contribution to the movement.

Economy When the First World War erupted in July 1914, its consequence on the Japanese economy was at first uncertain. As the European major powers began to fight each other, their international trade was suspended, which meant that Europe could no longer supply textiles, machinery and chemicals to the rest of the world. In reality, Japan did experience severe shortage of high-quality machines and industrial inputs while their domestic demand surged. But very soon, there was a sudden increase in global demand for Japanese products. An enormous export-led boom was generated because global demand shifted from Europe to Japan; and the US economy was expanding.

Government During the 1920s, Japan was trying to develop a more self-ruled government. The current custom was actually put into place after World War II, in This was because the economic downturn of the 1930's resulted in less parliamentary and more militaristic government.

Significant events Tokyo-Yokohama earthquake of 1923, also called Great Kanto earthquake, earthquake with a magnitude of 7.9 that struck the Tokyo-Yokohama metropolitan area near noon on September 1, 1923. it’s force was so great in Kamakura, over 60km from the epicentre, it moved the Great Buddha statue, which weighs about 93 short tonnes (84,000kg), almost two feet The Toyyo-Yokohama earthquake lasted for approximately 4-10 minutes.
