The #GetRecognized Awards was developed to recognized & acknowledge the talented, ambitious leaders in the province. Two separate categories were implemented: Young Professional Network of the Month Young Professional Network of the Quarter Winners were established through a judging process following a rubric. Judges came from various backgrounds (HR, Consulting, Economic Development & Tech)

Young Professional of the Month: Sept Jade Calver
Congratulations to Jade Calver on her provincial recognition as YP for the Month of September. Jade recently launcher her own Immigration Consulting Firm, Calver & Associates in Dec 2015, focusing on helping its local, rural community. She has over 8 years experience in the Canadian Immigration field. Jade is a member of PHYP and volunteers her services with Syrian Refugees and acts as an advisor on all Immigration and Refugee matters.

Young Professional of the Quarter: Sept-Nov SHIFT Thunder Bay
Congratulations to SHIFT Thunder Bay on their provincial recognition as YPN of the Quarter SHIFT is immensely involved and engrained within the community of Thunder Bay. They host 10+ well attended events per year. SHIFT most recently spearheaded a civic pride initiative that resulted in Thunder Bay City Council approving $12,000 to fund a taskforce.

Career Week | Unlock your Potential
YPNO has partnered with Stephanie Morris from Morris Career Consulting to host ‘Career Week’. September (Monday to Friday). Stephanie will be presenting scheduled topics for each day. She will be LIVE from 11:30 each day and presentations will run for minutes. Hosted through Facebook Live via YPNO account.

Ontario150 Partnership Program
This program supports collaborative projects that foster new partnerships and innovative ways to engage and empower youth. Looking at a potential partnership with EDCO (Economic Developers Council of Ontario) Joint application for provincial funding, collaborating a conference through the partnership grant in 2017. Application due September 30, 2016
