WRITING ASSIGNMENT

2 Resume A resume is a summary of your academic and professional life until now. Your resume should be: Clear Well-organized Easy to read Concise Relative to the job Your resume should be well designed, while avoiding fancy fonts. Your resume should NOT be longer than one page.

4 Resume A resume usually has five sections. Personal Information
This includes your name, your address, your phone number, and your address. Objective This tells why you are writing this resume: what kind of position you are trying to get. This also shows the employer that you’ve customized your resume for their job. Education This section gives your education history. It tells the degree(s) you’ve earned, from which schools, and during which years. After this section, you may want to include any certificates, awards, research, or achievements you’ve had while in school.

5 Resume Work Experience
This is the most important part of your resume. This is the part that shows that you’ve had practice doing the kind of work you’re hoping to get. In this section you should include: Your job title The name of your workplace The dates of your employment there A list of your responsibilities and duties while working there. This list should include a variety of strong verbs. Keep the verbs in the same tense.

6 Resume Related Experience
Tell about volunteer work, clubs, or other non-work experiences that have trained you in some way for the job you’re applying for.

10 Submission You will turn your printed resume in when it’s time for your interview (on April 18th). Your resume should not be folded, wrinkled, or bent in any way. Your resume should have each of the following sections: Personal Information, Objective, Education History, Work Experience, and Other Related Experience (If you are lacking work experience then put a lot of information in ‘Other Related Experience’ instead)
