2. Every teacher of Religious Education in the Diocese of Toowoomba requires Accreditation to Teach Religion in a Catholic School.
This is a direction of the Queensland Bishops and a policy of the Queensland Catholic Education Commission.
We need a sophisticated formation process for a sophisticated curriculum. We have high expectations of our learners and our teachers.

3. The Religious Education Curriculum directs schools to ensure accredited teachers teach RE.
Schools are required to report on accredited teachers at various points:
RE Validation
Accreditation Cycle
School renewal

4. There are three types of Accreditation:

Once achieved, all Accreditation certifications require ongoing professional learning to maintain accreditation:

6. To achieve Accreditation to Teach Religion you require 4 tertiary units in religious education, spirituality or theology.
