2
Thermodynamic Scale Kelvin 0K is absolute zero
A change of 1 K is the same as a change of 1 degree celsius. The lowest possible temperature Empty space is 2.73K
3
Absolute Zero At 0K the internal energy U of any system is at it’s lowest possible value, it can not be cooled further (theres no energy left)
4
Law’s of Thermodynamics
Zeroth law of thermodynamics: If two systems are in thermal equilibrium respectively with a third system, they must be in thermal equilibrium with each other. First law of thermodynamics: Energy can not be created or destroyed. Change in internal energy = heat transfer + work done. Second law of thermodynamics: The entropy of a system not in equilibrium will increase over time. Third law of thermodynamics: The entropy of a system approaches a constant value as the temperature approaches absolute zero.

A C B Thermal Equilibrium Thermal energy travels from hot to cold.
If two bodies are at equilibrium there is net transfer (but it will move back and forward)
