Made Middle East predominately Muslim (almost ½ of Arabs were Christian before the Crusades, but converted due to the massacres by Crusaders and pressure from Muslim leaders).
Connected trade centers from Italy to Constantinople, India, and even China.
Justified violent war for religious purposes.
Muslim world introduced Crusaders to a wide range of new foods and luxury items.
Helped stabilize European Society (took the fighting to the Middle East instead of Europe).
Significant loss of life (on both sides).
Intensified religious hostilities between Christian and Muslim worlds (still continues).
Increased power of women (who managed estates when husbands were gone to war).

4. End Results:
In the end, instead of achieving their goal (to unite Christianity and defeat the Muslims), the Crusaders actually divided Christianity and were defeated by the Muslims!!
