3 Roosevelt was from a wealthy family.
• he thought of him self as a everyday man. • He left politics when his first wife died in 1884. • Roosevelt took over office after McKinley died and he promised to continue the policies that he made. •Roosevelt felt that presidents were administrators and that they should be active leaders.
