WHAT IS KINOVEA? Kinovea is a video analysis software dedicated to sport. It targets primarily the coaches, athletes and medical professionals. It can also be useful in ergonomics and animation study.

How is it used? Kinovea is a free and open source solution for video analysis. It is mostly used by sports coaches and athletes to explore, study or comment a performance. In addition to this primary focus, Kinovea is also used by animation artists, podiatrists, and ergonomics engineers.

How it may be used Used to observe, analyze and compare videos.

Advantages of Kinovea It is possible to analyze all the movements, thus managing to capture details that may help to improve your results. you will be able to complete a full study of the videos, detecting errors or details of the procedures that could be improved. Possibility to compare or synchronize two videos to observe the procedure differences. Change the perspective of the images. Apply image and zoom adjustments to the movements to capture every little detail.

Disadvantages of Kinovea
Analyzing the movements at the same time ,you wont see all the flaws unless you are looking specifically for it. Prohibiting stream copy in many case. Fields of the given av picture are filled in by using" Ptr" It is wired computer control . It is difficult to download.

Step by step Procedure in using Kinovea to watch a video.
Opening and playing a video You can also use the menu File > Open or drag a file from the Windows Explorer to Kinovea to open the corresponding file. Once the video is opened, launch the playback with the player controls or browse to an arbitrary location with the navigation cursor.

2. Specifying a working zone
Move to an interesting period and use the working zone start button . Launch playback and let it run until the end of the sequence to analyze. Hit the working zone end button . 3. Increasing image size If image seems too small, use the little square handles at the image corners. Drag them until you are pleased with the image size.

4. Slowing down playback speed
In order to better study the motion, slow down playback speed using the speed cursor.

Zooming and Using Magnification
Use CTRL + Mouse Wheel to zoom in the image or unzoom. Move the zoomed image by dragging it around with the hand tool 2. Using the magnifier Click the magnifier button in the drawings tool bar .Hover your mouse on the image: the magnified zone shows up in the top left corner of the image.

Magnification contd Click on image to temporary fix the source zone.Four little corners are displayed around the source zone to resize it.

Playing motion backward with Reverse
The Reverse function lets you play the motion backward. It simply revert the order of the images in the working zone. To enable the Reverse function, use the menu Motion > Reverse.
