Olympics 2012 Merilin Kauniste Pärnu Coeducational Gymnasium

2 Location The 2012 Summer Olympic Games, also known as the Games of the XXX Olympiad, are due to be celebrated in London from 27 July to 12 August 2012.

3 Opening and Closing Ceremonies
The Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Games are always something to remember. They will welcome the world to London and set the tone for the 2012 Games. They will recognise the competing athletes and celebrate the Olympic spirit.

4 Logo This new logo is a representation of the number 2012, with the Olympic Rings embedded within the zero. This will be the first time that the same essential logo is to be used for both the Olympic and Paralympic games. Logo is in many colours and the first logo below is a logo for paraolympics.

5 Olympic Flag The Olympic flag has a white background,
with five interlaced rings in the centre: blue, yellow, black, green and red This design is symbolic  it represents the five inhabited continents of the world.

6 Stadiums(1). The London Olympic Stadium will be the centrepiece of the 2012 Summer Olympics. The O2 will be a stadium for gymnastics and basketball.

7 Stadiums (2) The Wembley stadium will be used for football.
The All England Club, Wimbledon will be used for tennis.

8 Sports The 2012 Summer Olympic programme features 26 sports.

10 Replaced Sports 2012 Olympic has dropped SOFTBALL and BASEBALL. They will remain Olympic sports , just not in 2012 Olympics. The sports considered were karate, squash, golf, roller sports and rugby. Karate and squash were the two final nominees, but neither received enough votes.
