OBBA Mission Statement
The Orono Basketball Association (OBBA) exists to provide boys and girls an opportunity to compete in an environment that emphasizes fundamental basketball skills, teamwork, accountability, good sportsmanship, fun and the development of integrity, responsibility, positive self-esteem and essential life skills. This mission statement drives our decision-making and policy setting, and we are committed to creating a positive culture in a safe environment, where coaches, parents and athletes work together to achieve our mission.

OBBA Financials At a Glance
All money received is spent on the basketball program Most of our income comes from registrations and the Spartan Classic tournaments Spartan Classic Tournaments are our primary fundraising to keep player costs down

Season Overview Tryouts and Team Announcements Coaches
Evaluations are performed by the respective varsity coach and additional select outside evaluators Players are assessed on fundamental skills and overall court awareness through various drills 4th grade teams will be parity 5th – 8th grade teams will be level based (Blue/Red/White) Teams will be posted on the website by 10PM on Saturday, 9/23 Coaches 4th – 6th Grade Teams will have volunteer, parent coaches 7th & 8th Grade Teams will have paid coaches selected by the OBBA Coaching Committee OBBA asks all coaches to do their best and abide by the expectations of our association Practice Schedule Girls begin the week of Oct 23rd & Boys begin the week of Oct 30th Each team will practice for 90 mins 2 times per week Gym space Tournament Schedule 4th Grade Boys and Girls will participate in 8 tournaments 5th – 8th Grade Boys and Girls will participate in 10 tournaments Tournaments are early Nov through end of Feb Rochester, late Feb/early March State Tournament, mid March

Expectations of Parents and Players
Players--Be Present. Coaches and teammates are depending on you. Parents—Be Prompt. Please have your child dropped off and picked up as requested from the coach for practices and games. Players—Honor the game by giving maximum effort, team first, good sportsmanship, and being coachable. Parents—Honor the game by positive encouragement for both child and team and no negative comments to officials or opposing teams—Staying silent is OK. Players—Have open dialogue with coach(s). If you have a question or something is bothering you--communicate Parent—Encourage your child to communicate with the coach. Players and Parents—HAVE FUN!!!
