Put First Things First In Sean Covey’s book, The 7 habits of Highly Effective Teens, he discusses the seven highly effective habits of teens. The ways one can effectively use Put First Things First, which is habit three of this book, is by using the Time Quadrants, using a planner, and by learning to overcome fear and peer pressure.

Time Quadrants The time quadrants illustrates how we spend our time into four different time quadrants. Though there the Time Quadrants consist of four categories, there are two main sections they are divided into, which are the important and non important. The important section contains one’s most important things, one’s first things, and activities that contribute to one’s mission and goals. In contrast, the urgent section contains, pressing things, in-one’s-face things, and activities that demand immediate attention.

Planners in your life Planners are a great and personal way to stay organized and a step or even a day ahead! When using a planner, first buy one you can fit everything in! When organizing it first put the most crucial and important events first. Next put the events that are less important and can be rescheduled around these things. This will allow you to have time and know when and what time you have to be at a place and if you are busy a certain day and have to reschedule. When using a planner you are able to set a scheduled routine and stay organized. This will also allow you to stay ahead of the game and be ready for upcoming meetings two days ahead of time instead of rushing in ten minutes late because you forgot all about it! Planners are a BIG help!

Discipline and Peer Pressure
Overcoming peer pressure and disciplining yourself will help make stronger, better, and more efficient choices. When a group of peers try to force another to do something they may not like the outcome, especially in teenage years, is to of course do it. This is peer pressure. How to handle peer pressure is hard but it takes two simple things, your self and a lot of DISCIPLINE. When disciplining yourself you keep a strong stance and not let things get you. By doing this you will also lead a healthier life for yourself and others around.

Thesis When putting these characteristics together you are now able to achieve success with happiness along the way. The quadrants will also allow you to put yourself in a group and from there fix the problems you posses in them. This habit will help anyone achieve their goal, the right way.
