Sub:-Control Engineering Topic:-Hydraulic Control and Hydraulic press
2
Introduction to Hydraulics
Hydraulics and hydraulic systems can be found almost everywhere. Hydraulics can be found at any construction site. Some machines that use hydraulics are bulldozers, fork lifts, and cranes. Hydraulics are used to lift cars so mechanics can work underneath them. Many elevators use the same operating technique.
3
Hydraulic Control System
elements Actuator Prime Movers Actuator Actuator Prime movers are devices which converts the mechanical power to the hydraulic power. This hydraulic power is than controlled by system and delivers at different parts of machine.
4
Hydraulic Systems has some functions
Power transmission (pressure and motion transmission) Signal transmission for control Lubrication of rotating and translating components to avoid friction and wear Heat transport, away from the location of heat generation, usually into the reservoir Transport of particles to the filter Protection of surfaces from chemical attack, especially corrosion
5
Components used in Hydraulic Systems
Pumps and motors Fluid reservoir Pressure control valve Filter Piping
6
Different Fluids used in Hydraulic System
Water Mineral oils Not inflammable fluids Biologically degradable fluids Low viscous fluids (in development)
7
Hydraulic Machines Hydraulic Accumulator Hydraulic Intensifiers
Hydraulic Presses
8
Application of Pascal's law
Hydraulic press:- This machine works on the principle of Pascal's law.
9
Hydraulic press As we seen that hydraulic press uses the Pascal's law.
It consists of ram and piston to lift heavy load by minimum effort.
10
As per the Pascal's law we can show that how we can lift the load of four while by minimum effort.
- Force F1 is applied to area A1 Pressure P in columns: P = F1/A1 = F2/A2 Force F2 on area A2 is greater than F1 by a factor A2/A1!!
11
Application of Hydraulic press
Hydraulic presses are commonly used for forging, clinching, moulding, blanking, punching, deep drawing, and metal forming operations.
