2. The first car manufactured in Hungary was called Phoenix.

3. The first bus was completed in 1910.
It was designed by János Csonka and used by the Post Office.

4. In 1908 the Hungarian Automobile Share Company Arad was founded called, MARTA.
Magomobils were made 25-horsepower cars.
Later they launched a 6-cylinder car called Magosix.

6. The new age:
In 1987, Hódgép agricultural machine factory planned a minicar for the French, Swiss and Italian market.
In 1989, the Tiszántúli Autójavító Company created a 3-seat car Sigma. It has never been produced.

7. Hungary doesn’t produce own designed cars but we have three foreign investors:
Audi has invested 3,3 billion Euros in Győr. It is one of the largest foreign investors in Hungary. 9% of Hungary’s export is produced by Audi. It is the second largest exporter in the country.

8. The Hungarian Suzuki Company is found in Esztergom The majority of the company belongs to the Japanese owner. It is the ninth largest sales company in Hungary. It produces 2.2% of Hungarian total export.

9. Since 1991 Szentgotthárd has been the home of the Opel Hungary Vehicle Manufacturer. It is one of the largest Opel / GM’s factories in Europe. Szentgotthárd is the centre of high-capacity engine and cylinder head factory. They used to assemble Opel Astras.

10. 2008
Daimler AG, chose Hungary to establish their first plant in Eastern Europe, for a Mercedes-factory. They will produce cars in Kecskemét. It will start in 2012.
