3 Step 1  Check the eligibility and determine research area
Entry requirements for PhD applicant: a. An appropriate 4-year degree of Bachelor Degree with first or upper second class honours b. Completed Master Degree Determine your research area Match your area of interest to one faculty or school of a university Read more about the specific requirements needed by the faculty

4 Step 2 Write a research proposal and look for a supervisor
RESEARCH PROPOSAL IS REQUIRED FOR APPLICATION A research proposal should include: A title Research problem and its significance Outline of the method used for analysing the data Detail of previous publications and/or research undertaken in your area of interest THE RESEARCH PROPOSAL SHOULD ONLY BE 2 PAGES IN LENGTH

THINGS YOU NEED TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING YOUR SUPERVISOR a. Read through the supervisor’s biography including his or her current and previous work, publication, research and concentration/specialization b. If you think what you have read matches your interest and expectation, you should short-listed his or her name into your potential supervisors’ list. c. You may choose more than one supervisor to be contacted.

6 How to build communication with the Supervisor?
Skype (if any) (preferrable) Meet them in person (if it is possible) IT IS IMPORTANT TO SAVE ALL THE CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR SUPERVISOR AS IT IS REQUIRED FOR THE APPLICATION

7 Step 3  Prepare all the supporting documents
DOCUMENTS NEED TO BE PREPARED TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION: Bachelor and Master Degree Certificate (Ijazah S1 dan S2) – the original copy and translated Bachelor and Master Degree Academic Transcript – the original copy and translated IELTS result 2 or 3 reference letters

5. Research proposal that has been approved by the Supervisor 6. Detailed CV 7. Published journal 8. Copy Passport

9 Step 4  Submit the application
Send all the documents you have prepared to your agent How long will you get the offer after submitting application? It can take about 8 – 12 weeks (2 – 3 months) or may be longer.

10 Step 5  Tracking your application
If you apply through agent, you may ask the agent to help you tracking your application. Some universities are using online application process, so the student may also check the status of his/her application through the online portal.

11 Step 6  Accept your offer
Successful applicant may receive 2 types of offer: Conditional Offer. If the student receive a conditional offer, it may because of the IELTS result or another supporting documents that still need to be submitted. 2. Unconditional Offer

THINGS NEEDED TO ACCEPT THE OFFER: SIGN THE ACCEPTANCE FORM ASK FOR GUARANTEE LETTER (FOR THOSE WHO HAVE GOT SCHOLARSHIP) SUBMIT THE DOCUMENTS REQUESTED BY THE UNIVERSITIES (FOR CONDITIONAL OFFER HOLDER)

13 What will happen after accepting the offer?
Get a CoE (Confirmation of Enrolment) Apply for a student visa Obtain the student visa
