1 Vikings at home Most people lived on farms. Farmers used tools, such as sickles and hoes. Viking houses were built of wood, stone or blocks of turf - depending on local materials. The houses were long box-shapes with sloping thatched roofs.

2 Jobs such as collecting wood for the fire, weaving cloth baking bread took up a lot of time.

3 People had farm animals such as pigs and cows to look after
People had farm animals such as pigs and cows to look after. In winter they had to take them in the house so it was a hassle.
