Common Installation Issues
Permissions – minimum permissions required; install as admin Hardware/Software configurations - 6GB memory required ALM patches – make sure they’re the latest for your ALM version Enable Excel Macros UFT Setting – “Allow other HP products to run tests and components” Register ALM instance Configure application correctly Use the correct browser add-ins for Chrome, Firefox, and IE Turnkey Proprietary & Confidential
6
Common cFactory Issues
Steps out of order – be sure to run Object Identification Script Missing AA – remember to connect to ALM Cannot create components – missing Altova software cFactory in use by multiple users on a single system or licenses not available Use of correct UFT add-ins Turnkey Proprietary & Confidential

Common DataDriver Issues
Setting up DataScenario Using parameter descriptions Missing DataSheet tab Invalid Sheet Name Missing user-defined fields Deleting “New Scenario” button & how to fix it! Turnkey Proprietary & Confidential
8
cFactory Log File Tks_logfile.txt can be found by typing %appdata% in an Explorer search window and then going to the directory TKSLogs on the VM or client system where they are running. The full path and filename is c:\Users\<nameofuser>\AppData\TKSLogs\Tks_logfile.txt). Turnkey Proprietary & Confidential

11
Debugging a Component Open the component
Put a breakpoint on the automation step from which you want to start testing Layer UFT on top of application screen to be tested Enter the data Click “Run from Step” under Automation Step through the automation Turnkey Proprietary & Confidential

Debugging Tests in Test Plan
Parameters Tab - Select test and set the DataScenario parameter to match the one in the DataSheet Save the datasheet to the local file system Start the test using the run icon (“triangle button”) From Run or Debug Test menu, select the components you want to run in Debug Mode Turnkey Proprietary & Confidential
13
Other Notable Items You cannot save a component if any of the parameters are colored red – these must be fixed. When using OutputToSheet_TKS Keyword the input value called “SheetColumnName” should be a constant value and should match the name of the Output Parameter. Refresh after every change you make in ALM! It is essentially your “Save” button. Turnkey Proprietary & Confidential

Other Notable Items, Cont’d.
When iterating components in a test case, make sure you add one more iteration than the number of iterations that you want to perform. The extra iteration is to exit the iteration group within the DataSheet. Before closing a datasheet, make sure you save, upload and refresh first. Make sure you regularly clear out the local Temp directory in order to keep your VM in good working order (c:\Users\Melissa\AppData\Local\Temp) Turnkey Proprietary & Confidential
