1 User Interface Evaluation

2 Windows Vista Large desktop Space provided. Taskbar - untidy
Time, & other functions and program indicators - small sized. Icons sorted - although , have a messy appearance.

3 Mac OSX Leopard Clear Desktop Taskbar - hard to read.
Time, battery life and other indicators eg volume control, Bluetooth, Wireless - too much empty space. Mac OSX Leopard Clear Desktop Taskbar - hard to read. Compacted icons in neat, linear position.

4 Windows vs Mac Mac Windows
Large clear desktop provided Complex default desktop image Icons placed against the left margine - although appear untidy. the user is given the option to choose the size of the icons (small-medium-large) Taskbar is placed at the bottom of the screen, small in size - hard to read On th bottom right of the taskbar is the functions and indicators e.g. time, volume control, wireless etc. Mac Empty basic desktop provided      - too much empty space  Futuristic default desktop image Icons placed in linear position at the bottom of the desktop               - may be seen as "cramped". Icons are small in size, but when rolled-over with mouse, increased in size  Task bar is placed in the top left hand side of the desktop The function are placed on the top right hand side of the desktop, on the taskbar.

5 Windows Media Player Different functions - different tabs Vizualiser -
may hurt poor eyesight  - takes up too much space. Centered playback controls Congested "now playing" playlist - too narrow. untidy.

6 iTunes Large space for track information Search bar.
"now playing info." Playback controls are easily accesible displays useful data information

7 Windows Media Player vs iTunes
 Dark colours- hard to see. Small, congested "now playing" bar. does not show detail about tracks. Untidy Layour. Itunes Light Neutral Colours- easy on the eyes   Displays much neccassary information for tracks. Displays information about library.

Shell is similar to Office Suite, easy access to tools though ribbon. Nice big icons Large, central viewscreen present in all views

13 Premiere Pro CS3 vs Movie Maker
Highly functional Shows alot of information simultaneously Linear timeline GUI can be spread across 2 monitors. Very cluttered Requires searching through menus to find tools Many windows required for operation Black text on dark background. Requires alot of clicking and mouse movment to use Movie Maker: Less functional Similar GUI style to Office suite Large buttons rather than drop down menus Clear, uncluttered screen White colorscheme may seem plain. Large project window
