and of the Holy Spirit.

3. God created man in the image of himself,
in the image of God he created him,
male and female he created them.
God blessed them, saying to them,
'Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and conquer it.
Be masters of the fish of the sea, the birds of heaven
and all living animals on the earth.'
- Genesis 1:27-28

4. Humanity is the only one of God’s creations who is created
in His image and likeness.
Only people can know God and share in His life.
All of humankind was created by God and for God.
Of all the visible creatures only we are truly able
to know and love our creator.

5. Being made in the image of God,
a person is not just something but he or she is set apart
from all creation as someone with
personal dignity and knowledge of themselves.

6. Pause for a moment and think how in your life you could
help someone you know to see their self-worth.
For example, saying ‘well done’ to someone or talking to
someone who might be lonely.

7. Thank you for the gift of life you have given us.
We pray together:
Dear Father in heaven,
Thank you for the gift of life you have given us.
Thank you for the people you have made us to be.
Help us to live our lives to the full.
Open our hearts to receive your love so that we, in return,
can show love and respect to everyone in our school community, our families and our friends.
Send us your Holy Spirit so we can achieve excellence in our learning and do our personal best in all areas of school life.
May we always live, love and learn through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
