To improve the brown plant hopper resistant traits of rice in the lower northern of Thailand

7. Materials and methods The recipient is Chinat 1
Many advantageous traits:
elongation, extra long grain, low chalkiness,
high yield, blast resistance, well adapt to grow in Thailand, better price of grain,
high amylose content, best for noodle production, BPH resistance etc.

Abhaya (Abhaya and Kaw Dok Mali (KDML 105)) BC4/F6 ( ) backcross introgressed line of KDML105
E10M13-1 suggested as bph4
E4/M2-1 expected to be Bph10

The elite improved Chinat 1 variety carries many brown plant hopper resistant genes which provide higher protection level to brown plant hopper better and more effective than the original one
